(Undated) — Pete Rose’s defamation lawsuit against attorney John Dowd is being dismissed by a federal judge in Pennsylvania. ESPN reports the two sides reached an agreement prior to Rose being deposed. Baseball’s all-time hit king sued Dowd in July of last year after he went on the radio in 2015 and asserted that Rose had committed statutory rape decades earlier. The now 76-year-old Rose was seeking unspecified damages. Dowd’s 1989 investigation led to Rose being banned for life from Major League Baseball for gambling on the sport while managing the Cincinnati Reds.
