Putin To Seek Re-Election in 2018

(Moscow) — Russian President Vladimir Putin says he will seek re-election in next March’s election. Putin made the announcement today at a meeting with factory workers in Russia. Addressing the auto workers, Putin said he couldn’t find a better place or a better moment to announce his candidacy. With approval ratings topping 80 percent, Putin looks likely to win the March 18th vote. Putin has been in power in Russia since 2008, having served as both president and prime minister.
