(Los Angeles, CA) — Crews are fighting several devastating wildfires in Southern California. Wind-driven flames have destroyed hundreds of homes, forced the evacuations of tens of thousands of people, and blackened over 83-thousand acres. No deaths have been reported. Governor Jerry Brown has declared a state of emergency in Los Angeles and Ventura counties. The largest, the Thomas Fire, had scorched 65-thousand acres as of this morning.
