(San Francisco, CA) — The construction of the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway continues to move forward after another victory in court.
The Gila River Indian Community along with environmental and community groups filed at least six lawsuits hoping to block the Loop 202 expansion, arguing ADOT did not comply with federal laws in planning it. But a 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals decision upheld another ruling of the U.S. District Court of Arizona, allowing construction to proceed.
The extension should be finished by 2019.
