(Ray Township, MI) — Deputies and fire crews are being credited for saving a horse from a frozen pond in Michigan this week. The deputies first used ropes to try to pull the animal out of its predicament in Ray Township with no luck. The cold, icy conditions proved treacherous and a deputy who attempted to attach a rope to the horse’s bridle ultimately fell through the ice. He was quickly pulled out and continued with the rescue. The horse was eventually rescued from the icy pond and checked out okay by a local veterinarian.
