(Washington, DC) — The Federal Aviation Administration says popular Christmas decorations could distract or even blind pilots if not used correctly.
The FAA says it’s concerned powerful beams meant for Christmas displays could shoot past homes and into the sky. The federal agency issued a statement saying, “People may not realize that systems they set up to spread holiday cheer can also pose a potential hazard to pilots flying overhead.”
The FAA said pilots over the past few years have reported being distracted or blinded by Christmas-themed laser light displays.
