(Dallas, TX) — The Dallas Police Association is defending three officers indicted on deadly conduct charges in the death of a Rockwall man.
DPA says Sergeant Kevin Mansell, Officer Danny Vasquez, and a third officer used a common physical restraint on the man in August 2016.
They expect the officers to be found not guilty at trial. Tony Timpa was high on cocaine when he called 911 saying he was worried about something, and died about an hour later. Police told “The Dallas Morning News” Timpa was aggressive while in custody, but records also show officers told the Attorney General’s Office the exact opposite. A grand jury indicted the officers yesterday.
