Congressman Mike Thompson Says GOP Tax Bill Will Devastate Middle Class

(Undated)  —  California Congressman Mike Thompson says the GOP tax bill will devastate the middle class.  In the weekly Democratic Address, he said the bill was made without the input of Democrats and without any hearings.  He stressed that the majority of tax breaks will go to the top one percent of the richest Americans.  But, Thompson said the middle class isn’t the only group that will suffer under the new bill.  He said seniors, disabled Americans and veterans all count on various tax provisions that are on the chopping block.  Thompson said Republicans are set to cut Social Security, Medicare, veterans’ benefits and other critical government services because the debt is too high.  He’s calling the bill irresponsible.
