The Skirball Fire is threatening a major museum in Los Angeles. The raging 50-acre brush fire has shut down the 405 Freeway near the world-famous Getty Center. The museum is a 20-year-old complex of dramatic buildings surrounding an intricate garden. It has sweeping views of Los Angeles and the Pacific Ocean, and contains American, European and Asian art. The Getty Center tweeted, “Air filtration systems are protecting the galleries from smoke. We continue to monitor the situation.” The museum is closed to the public today. The Skirball Fire was broke out early morning.
