Bouncer Accused Of Club Beating Begins Trial

(Houston, TX) — A trial is set to begin today for the security manager of an after-hours club who is accused of instigating a violent attack on a patron.

Forty-year-old Darian Blount is accused of prompting the 2016 attack on Moses Malone Jr. outside the V Live club. Blount was reportedly angry that Malone had written a derogatory Facebook post about basketball star James Harden, a regular visitor to the club. At Blount’s urging, several people reportedly beat Malone and stole his cell phone and jewelry.

Blount is charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.
