U.S. Elderly More Likely To Go Without Healthcare

(Undated)  —  Senior citizens have a harder time getting healthcare in America than in many other countries.

A new report finds that American seniors are sicker and more often go without care because they can’t afford it, even with Medicare.

Nearly a quarter of American senior citizens didn’t go to a doctor last year because they couldn’t afford it. That’s compared to less than five percent in nations like France, Norway and the UK. The report was published Wednesday in the journal “Health Affairs.”
