Three Kids Saved From Abuse By Alert Teacher

(San Antonio, TX)  —  Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar says a schoolteacher saved three young kids from alleged domestic abuse. 

The teacher alerted Child Protective Services after she noticed bruises on a five-year-old’s lower back. The investigation led to the arrests of the girl’s father and stepmother, 32-year-old James Chalkley and his 22-year-old wife Cheyanne. The two are accused of abusing the kids with a shock collar and a thorny switch. Both are in Bexar County Jail facing charges of injury to a child. 

The girl, her 10-year-old sister, and their three-year-old brother are now in the custody of CPS.
