(Spring Branch, TX) — A Texas company says it’s been selling lethal weapons to Ukraine since last year.
The weapons sales by AirTronic USA of Spring Branch precede an expected decision by the Trump administration as to whether or not to sell weapons to Ukraine.
Chief Operating Officer Richard Vandiver says the sales have been limited to short-range defensive weapons, mainly Precision Shoulder Fired Rocket launchers, which are an updated version of the Soviet RPG-7 anti-tank weapon. Ukraine is fighting Russian-trained and funded separatists in the eastern part of the country and expects an armored assault.
