Strong Quake Shakes Iraq Near Border With Iran

(Halabjah, Iraq) — The death toll is rising following a powerful earthquake near the Iraq-Iran border.

The U.S. Geological Survey reports the magnitude-7.3 quake struck near Halabjah, Iraq Sunday. Over 140 people are dead in Iran with hundreds of others hurt. Officials say the death toll is likely to go up. Several others are reported dead in Iraq as well.
