(Washington,DC) — Top Republicans in the Senate are calling for Alabama Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore to step aside. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell told reporters that he believes the women who have come forward to accuse Moore of sexual misconduct. His number two, Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn, withdrew his endorsement of Moore. The Texas Republican also called the accusations against Moore “disturbing,” adding that they would disqualify him if they’re true. Colorado Senator Cory Gardner, who heads the Senate committee that works to elect Republicans, said Moore is unfit to serve and that if he wins next month’s special election, the Senate should vote to expel him.
