Rey Saldana Is Along With People Fasting For Hunger Awareness

(San Antonio, TX)  —  District 4 Councilman Rey Saldana is among a number of San Antonians who are fasting in an effort to raise money to fight hunger.

Saldana ate nothing but bread and water on Wednesday, pledging not to eat until he had raised a thousand dollars for a local food bank.  By 10 p.m., he reached his goal. At least 20 other local people have fasted as well as part of an initiative called Thanksgiving 365. 

A spokesman for the Inner City Development Group, sponsor of the effort, says they hope to raise 40-thousand dollars by November 14th.
