(Louisville, KY) — Former men’s basketball coach Rick Pitino is suing the University of Louisville for breach of contract. Pitino is seeking 37.6-million-dollars, saying he was fired with no justified cause. He was dismissed in October amid an FBI investigation into bribery and fraud in college basketball. The 65-year-old insists he was unaware of a payment made to the family of key recruit Brian Bowen in exchange for him choosing to play for the Cardinals. Bowen will not be allowed to play for U-of-L and is free to transfer. Pitino spent 16 seasons as coach at Louisville winning a national championship in 2013
