Legionnaire’s Disease Outbreak Tied To Disneyland

(Anaheim, CA)  —  Two cooling towers at Disneyland are shut down and being disinfected for the third time following an outbreak of Legionnaire’s Disease.  Orange County health officials say that 12 people came down with the lung infection after nine of them visited the Disneyland Resort in September, while the other three live in or were visiting Anaheim.  Legionnaire’s Disease is caused by exposure to contaminated water or mist.  The Orange County Healthcare Agency says there haven’t been any new cases in nearly a month-and-a-half.
