ICE Will Move Forward With Deportation Of Illegal Man Cleared Of Murder

(Washington, D.C.) — The illegal immigrant found not guilty in the death a San Francisco woman now faces deportation. Jose Garcia Zarate [[ zah-RAH-tay ]] was cleared of murder charges in the shooting of Kate Steinle [[ STINE-lee ]] in July 2015.  After the verdict was announced, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency said they will begin proceedings to deport Zarate back to Mexico. ICE says that prior to Steinle’s death, Zarate had already been deported five times.
