House Expected To Approve Bill On Sexual Harassment Today

(Washington, DC)  —  The House is expected to approve a bill meant to address sexual harassment in Congress today.

The bill would mandate special training for all representatives and staff members. In a Capitol briefing, Washington state Republican Cathy McMorris Rodgers said members of Congress must be held to a higher standard.

She called herself deeply troubled by growing reports of sexual misconduct across the U.S.  Meantime, veteran Michigan Democrat John Conyers is facing growing calls to resign. Conyers has rejected a number of sexual harassment allegations against him. Minnesota Senator Al Franken has also been accused by several women of sexual misconduct.
