(Washington, DC) — Some Democrats are introducing a bill targeting sexual harassment in Congress. In a briefing today, New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand [[ KIR-sten JILL-ih-brand ]] said sexual harassment is a serious problem on Capitol Hill. She argued that members of Congress should never be above the law. California Congresswoman Jackie Speier [[ spear ]] said congressional staffers are powerless and gagged. A key part of the bill would mandate sexual harassment prevention training. Gillibrand said the measure aims to promote accountability, responsibility and fairness.
