Freeman Martin of the Texas Department of Public Safety said shooting suspect Devin Patrick Kelley had sent threatening texts to his mother in-law, who was a member of the church’s congregation. The 26-year-old Kelley is believed to have shot and killed 26 people and wounded 20 more, ten critically, at the church in Sutherland Springs during services yesterday.

Martin said he couldn’t go into details about the domestic situation, but said the shooting was not motivated by race or religion. Kelley is believed to have committed suicide after being chased from the church by two good Samaritans, one of which engaged in a gunfire with the suspect.

Fred Milanowski of the ATF said three guns were recovered including a rifle and two handguns. Kelley did not have a license to carry.  Authorities said they had seen video from inside the church, but didn’t provide details.
