Hurricane Harvey Relief

Washington, DC)  —  Texas lawmakers are hoping to get almost 19-billion dollars in Harvey relief from the federal government. Governor Greg Abbott, Senators Ted Cruz and John Cornyn, and almost all of the state’s congressional delegation made the request in a letter to the House and Senate. The letter says the cash already provided to Texas will help, but is only a small fraction of the resources needed to rebuild the state. Most of the cash is for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers projects along the Gulf Coast, plus block grants to help communities rebuild. The government sent 15-billion to Texas last month.
