(Dallas, TX) — The adoptive father of a three-year-old girl whose body was found on Sunday is now in Dallas County Jail under suicide watch.
Wesley Mathews was transferred on Wednesday from the Richardson Jail to the county lockup.
On Monday, Mathews told police a different story from what he’d earlier said about his daughter’s disappearance on October 7th. He now says Sherin Mathews fatally choked on her milk after he “physically assisted” her in drinking it.
He told police he removed her body from the family’s Richardson home and placed it in the culvert where it was found.
He faces a charge of felony injury to a child.
