The Democrat wants the seat that currently belongs to Democratic Representative Kyrsten Sinema, who’s going after the Senate seat held by Republican Jeff Flake. Stanton is billing himself as a “progressive who gets things done.” His website highlights Phoenix’s growing tech sector, its light rail system, and environmental policies. Stanton has been the mayor of Phoenix since 2012.
