(Houston, TX) — NFL star and hometown Houston hero J.J. Watt returned to the field last night, but he didn’t line up against his opponent’s starting quarterback.
The Houston Texans’ defensive end hobbled out to the pitching mound at Minute Maid Park to a standing ovation from the Astros crowd. Watt had the honor of throwing out the first pitch before Game Three of the World Series.
Watt managed a decent outside throw to home plate, especially considering he was on crutches.
This was Watt’s first public appearance since breaking his leg during Week Five’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, effectively ending his season. Game Four tonight between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Astros is tonight.
