Indonesian General Denied U.S. Entry

Indonesian General Gatot Nurmantyo

(Jakarta)  —  Indonesia would like some answers about why the head of its armed forces was denied entry to the U.S. General Gatot Nurmantyo was getting ready to board a plane to the United States Saturday at the invitation of General Joseph Munford Junior, chairman of the joint chiefs of staff and former commandant of the Marine Corps. He was then told he wouldn’t be allowed into the U.S. No explanation was immediately given but Indonesia is seeking answers from its ambassador in Washington D.C. and the American ambassador in Jakarta.
