(New York, NY) — Activists are making themselves heard outside of the NFL owner’s meetings in lower Manhattan.
Dozens carried signs and chanted in support of players who kneel during the National Anthem.
Team owners are reportedly meeting today to discuss several issues, including if the policy concerning kneeling should change.
NFL free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick was the first player to kneel during the anthem last year. He’s filed a grievance against the league for allegedly colluding against him.
The protesters were gathered outside of the Conrad Hotel near Battery Park. At one point, a woman from their group sang the National Anthem as many took a knee and raised a fist.
