Dallas Starts Program For The Homeless

(Dallas, TX)  —  The City of Dallas is taking action after noticing a high amount of people sleeping on the streets of downtown and on an overpass at I-30 and St. Paul.  There’s a new office called the Office of Homeless Solutions.  Workers there go to clean up homeless encampments and will create a human catalog.  The city plans to increase its outreach from four to 12 workers, and put more Dallas officers on foot patrols in downtown and entertainment districts.  The city will provide emergency shelter, and mental and physical health services plus drug intervention programs.
