Burglary Suspect Accidentally Shoots Self

(Fort Worth, TX) — An attempted burglary suspect is recovering at a hospital for a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Fort Worth police say three men attempted to break into a truck in a driveway of a home on Westhaven Drive early this morning.

The owner went outside and startled the group who then ran off. Investigators say one of the men had a gun which discharged shooting his thigh. Officers caught up to them and took him to a hospital. All three men are facing charges.

According to Dallas news,

“Three men were breaking into a pickup in a driveway about 2:30 a.m. in the 5300 block of Westhaven Drive when the homeowner came outside and startled them, police said.

As the men ran away, one of them fired a handgun into his thigh.”
