(Washington, DC) — A new report says the FBI is now backing a CIA conclusion that Russia engaged in hacking in part to help Donald Trump win the presidency.
“The Washington Post” says FBI Director James Comey and Director of National Intelligence James Clapper back the CIA assessment.
There were earlier reports that the FBI did not agree with the notion that the Russians were trying to help Trump.
In addition to helping the President-elect, the intelligence apparatus told lawmakers that Moscow also wanted to undermine confidence in the U.S. electoral system.
