(Moscow) — Vladimir Putin strikes a diplomatic tone in his annual state of the nation address.
The Russian president said today that Moscow wants to get along with the new Trump administration and make friends, not enemies.
Putin said in his address to Russia’s political elite, “We don’t want confrontation with anyone. We don’t need it.”
He said Russia is ready to cooperate with the new administration, saying, “We have a shared responsibility to ensure international security.”
Putin said in particular, he was hoping to find common ground with Washington on fighting global terrorism.
