(Syria) — There are reports of mass executions as Syrian government forces sweep through the city of Aleppo.
Government troops are driving out the rebel forces that have held Syria’s largest city for four years.
Activists say Syrian troops are hunting down and killing anyone with links to the rebels.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says “butcheries” are being carried out “every hour.”
The United Nations said today it has reports that more than 80 civilians were shot on sight by pro-government forces yesterday.
The U.N. says many were shot in their homes.
U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki Moon has expressed grave concern over the reports of what he called “atrocities against a large number of civilians, including women and children.”
