(New York, NY) — It looks like Rudy Giuliani will not be part of President-elect Donald Trump’s administration.
Giuliani told Fox News that he took his name out of consideration for a cabinet position after a meeting with Trump more than a week ago.
In the statement released by the Presidential Transition team, Trump praises Giuliani, calling him “an extraordinarily talented and patriotic American.”
Trump goes on to say he will continue to seek advice from Giuliani and left open the possibility of him being part of the administration in the future.
Giuliani had been mentioned as a top candidate for secretary of state.
He will remain a Vice Chairman in the transition team.
Giuliani was an early and vocal supporter of Trump.
