(WASHINGTON D.C.) — Two Electoral College members who want to block Donald Trump’s election are going to court.
The Democratic electors in Colorado are suing in federal court.
They want to overturn a state law that requires them to cast their votes for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, who won Colorado’s popular vote.
Instead, they want Republican electors to be allowed to vote for a Republican candidate other than Trump.
They hope overturning Colorado’s law will have the same effect in 28 other states, including several where some Republican electors have expressed concerns about Trump.
