Connecticut Officials Defend F-35 After Trump Tweet

(Hartford, CT)  —  Connecticut officials are coming to the defense of the F-35 Strike Fighter program after a critical tweet from President-elect Donald Trump.

The engines for the F-35 are made by East Hartford based Pratt and Whitney, and Trump says the program costs are out of control.

Governor Dan Malloy says the F-35 is a great plane, and says he’s more concerned that Trump tweets.

Senator Richard Blumenthal says the F-35 will provide air superiority and security to the U.S. and its allies.
