(New York, NY) — A Goldman Sachs executive will serve as a key economic advisor in the incoming Donald Trump administration.
Gary Cohn is being appointed as director of the National Economic Council and Trump’s assistant for economic policy.
Cohn joins the list of Goldman Sachs employees working with Trump including Treasury Department pick Steven Mnuchin and senior advisor Steve Bannon.
The financial firm was a regular target of Trump’s throughout the campaign.
He accused it of having too much influence over politicians.
Trump said that Cohn, quote, “understands the economy and will use all of his vast knowledge and experience to make sure the American people start winning again.”
