Clinton Campaign Chairman Supports Electors Getting Briefed On Hacks

(Washington, D.C.)  —  The chairman of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign says members of the Electoral College should be briefed about reports that blame Russia for the election season hacking.

In a statement, John Podesta says the Clinton camp supports an open letter from a group of electors demanding to get an intelligence briefing about Russia’s possible involvement in the hacks.

He said the Obama administration owes it to Americans to release information about, quote, “the extent and manner of Russia’s interference.”

Podesta also said a report that the CIA has determined that Russia was behind the hacks should “distress every American.”

John Podesta’s emails were among those hacked and released on WikiLeaks during the election season.
