(Iraan, TX) — Classes will be in session today in the Iraan Sheffield School District, but students will be grieving over Friday’s fatal bus accident on Interstate 20 that claimed the life of a cheerleading coach and injured the driver and six cheerleaders from Iraan High School.
The small bus was struck by an 18-wheeler that state police say was trying to avoid a collision with another vehicle near Big Spring.
School superintendent Kevin Allen tells EverythingLubbock.com that the six girls are in good condition with no major injuries, but the bus driver remains in serious condition at a Lubbock hospital.
