(Washington, DC) — A Texas journalist captured in Syria four years ago may still be alive.
Senator John Cornyn of Texas announced yesterday that the president’s special envoy for hostage affairs believes with high confidence that Austin Tice remains alive and is being held in Syria with other American captives.
The Houston native was abducted while working as a freelance reporter for the “Washington Post” and other news outlets.
Tice’s family has stated that they believe he’s being held by a Syrian entity and not Islamic State rebels.
