(Atlanta, GA) — Tornadoes are threatening several areas of Georgia today.
Tornadoes were confirmed in at least two counties as severe weather struck the Southeast U.S. the past two days.
The twisters were confirmed in Vinings, Georgia and near Atlanta.
No injuries have been reported.
Tornado warnings were issued for several counties early this afternoon.
Rain and thunderstorms were hitting the Atlanta area and 20 counties in the southwest portion of the state are under wind advisories until tonight.
Several schools in and around the Atlanta area were dismissed because of the severe weather.
A tornado is believed to be responsible for three deaths in a mobile home in northeastern Alabama early this morning.
A daycare center in DeKalb County, Alabama was flattened and other buildings badly damaged.
Tornadoes were also reported yesterday in Louisiana and Mississippi.
