OSU Attacker May Have Been Inspired By ISIS

(Columbus, OH) — Investigators believe the attacker at Ohio State University may have been inspired by ISIS and the late Islamic cleric Anwar al-Awlaki.

On Monday, Artan plowed a car into a group at OSU, got out and attacked others with a butcher knife.

FBI Special Agent Angela Byers said investigators are examing Artan’s electronic devices and his social media accounts.

Shortly before the attack, a Facebook account linked to Artan featured a rant that called for America to stop interfering in Muslim countries.

Byers also asked people to come forward if they know of Artan’s whereabouts before the attack.
Eleven people were hurt in the attack and all those injured are expected to make full recoveries.

Artan was killed by a police officer.
