(Dallas, TX) — The Obama administration will have election monitors in place today at polling stations in Dallas, Harris and Waller counties.
No specific reasons were given by the U.S. Justice Department for the Texas deployments, but typically the Civil Rights Division sends workers to locations where there may be the potential of racial discrimination.
Texas civil rights advocates say there is also concern over inaccurate information being given out by poll workers on court-ordered modifications to the state’s controversial Voter ID Law.
