(New York, NY) — About two dozen protestors in New York City are facing disorderly conduct charges after blocking traffic during demonstrations this morning in Lower Manhattan.
Hundreds of airport workers, Uber drivers and other low wage employees from New Jersey and New York gathered to demand a 15 dollar an hour minimum wage.
About two dozen came out of a penned off area and sat on Broadway, only to be taken away in handcuffs.
People pushing for a higher minimum wage are calling today a “Day of Disruption” in hundreds of cities.
They’re planning strikes and civil disobedience protests in 340 cities across the country.
