(Grapevine, TX) — Federal officials are investigating yesterday’s potentially deadly encounter between a remotely-operated drone and a single-engine Cessna aircraft near DFW Airport. The FAA says the pilot of the small plane came very close to being struck by the drone at an altitude of four-thousand feet about four miles from the airport. The pilot says the drone passed about 50-feet below his plane and just a few yards off his left wing. Federal rules require that drones be flown no higher than 400 feet from the ground.
