(San Antonio, TX) — Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump says San Antonio Mayor Ivy Taylor “should be ashamed of herself” for allowing police officers to be disciplined for wearing the candidate’s campaign hat.
Trump tells syndicated radio talk show host Joe Pags that he’s not surprised Taylor is a Democrat and calls the officers who wore his “Make America Great Again” caps incredible, brave people.
Taylor responded to Trump’s criticism by simply restating that city policy demands that employees not take sides in a political race when they are representing the city.
