(Austin, TX) — Texas election officials are countering claims by Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump that the upcoming November 8th election could be rigged.
Alicia Pierce, spokeswoman for the Texas Secretary of State’s Office, tells the “Austin American-Statesman” that it would be “essentially impossible” to “dramatically influence the election on a statewide level.”
Pierce says it would require collusion “among a wide swath of people and neighbors and Texans you and I know.”
Elections officials say voting machines in Texas are not vulnerable to hackers because the machines are not connected to the Internet.
