(Austin, TX) — A state agency will offer free Zika testing to pregnant women in the Rio Grande Valley who are showing symptoms connected to the virus.
The Department of State Health Services says the testing will be available for pregnant women in Cameron, Hidalgo, Starr, Willacy, Webb and Zapata counties if they are showing at least two symptoms of the virus.
Possible symptoms include red eyes, joint pain, fever and rash.
Pregnant women with those symptoms are asked to see their local healthcare provider for the free screening.
