(Houston, TX) — Jose Altuve is “Sporting News'” MLB Player of the Year.
He received the honor today, becoming the first Astros player to win since Jeff Bagwell did in 1994.
Altuve won the AL batting title for the second time in three years and also hit 24 home runs.
The MLB Player of the Year is voted on by over 340 MLB players.
