(Missouri City, TX) — State Representative Ron Reynolds, the Democratic Whip in the Texas House, is seeking protection from his creditors in federal bankruptcy court.
The “Houston Chronicle” reports Reynolds is reeling from legal troubles and filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection in July.
The rep from Fort Bend County was recently ordered by a Harris County judge to pay one of his clients over half-a-million dollars and he’s also accused of barratry, commonly known as ambulance chasing. Reynolds is expected to win re-election in November in his heavily blue district.
